Brent Musburger and Katherine Webb, together again, sort of

The awesomeness of Iowa State freshman Matt Mummelthei can’t be overstated here. Brent Musburger was calling the Kansas-Iowa State basketball game in Ames on Monday, when Mummelthei approached the broadcaster and asked him to sign his Katherine Webb bikini poster.

A pretty bold move, seeing that it was Musburger who ignited a media firestorm by introducing Webb to the world during the BCS title game broadcast in January. ESPN ended up apologizing for what many saw as Musburger obsessing over Webb, who was watching her boyfriend, Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron, from the stands.

But Musburger happily signed the poster, even writing “She’s a 10!”.

Here’s a photo of Musburger with the poster right here.

Oh great. Now the 4 letter network will be rushing to apologize for another non-issue.

I’ll tell you what… as gorgeous as she is, her career was going nowhere until Musburger fawned over her during the BCS game. She owes him a lot. And to her credit, she has thanked him numerous times for what he’s (inadvertently or not) done for her. I say good for BOTH of them. #myopinion is right… non-issue. But I laugh at how the networks are falling over themselves like there’s actually something to apologize for.

I didn’t think he did anything wrong he just was excited. I guess that he thought he had some kinda scoop if you will, he doesn’t have a history of making sexual jokes or suggestions. He has always conducted himself as a gentleman and I’m not a real big fan of his.

ESPN get’s scared if one of their guys doesn’t have a tie on, they are so fake.
