Feb 9, 2013, 2:20 PM EDT

Over the last couple of Major League Baseball seasons, the San Francisco Giants have held some interesting promotional nights from “Irish Heritage Night” to “Bruce Lee Appreciation Night“.

For this upcoming season, the Giants decided to go the route of hosting a night dedicated to one of the greatest heavy metal bands of all-time in Metallica.

The band who has created such hits as “Enter the Sandman”, “Fade To Black”, and “Master of Puppets” will be celebrated on May 5th when the Giants take on the Los Angeles Dodgers at AT&T Park:

The band will perform the National Anthem and participate in other features throughout the game and a special-edition Metallica hat will be given away.

A portion of the proceeds with be donated to the Bill Graham Foundation.

Just make sure when you get that special Metallica hat that you don’t lose it headbanging to “Creeping Death”.

Nice, but it’s a shame they didn’t do it when Metallica still mattered.

Nothing says cinco de mayo like a ripping version of their power ballad “One”
