Junior hockey league goalie Jake Theut hits opponent on breakway, sends him head over skates (video)

Since the National Hockey League is still under a work stoppage, we have to turn to the world of minor league and junior hockey for the big on-ice hits that we crave.

The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League is one of those leagues and St. Mary’s Lincolns goalie Jake Theut recently doled out a pretty nasty hit in a game against the Sarnia Legionnaires.

As the Legionnaires Josh Kerstner attempted to score on a breakaway, Theut went out of the comfort of his own goal to play the puck to stop the shot.

Watch as Jake ends up stopping more than the shot as he sends Kerstner into the air with the slide save:
