Before coming across this story about New England Patriots tight-end Rob Gronkowski, I hadn’t heard about the Nickelodeon cartoon series, “NFL Rush Zone: Guardians of the Core“.

Apparently, the show is in its second season and features a rather far-fetched story about a 10-year old child named Ishmael attempting to protect shards of a special power source called “The Core” on Sundays. The shards that he has to protect are placed around each of the 32 NFL stadiums and Ish has to protect them from an evil-doer named Sudden Death.

So far, the series has featured voice cameos from Shannon Sharpe, Marcus Allen, Stephen Jackson, Chargers coach Norv Turner and Steelers coach Omar Epps..I mean Mike Tomlin.

In one of this season’s episodes, Gronkowski appears as himself and below is a picture of Gronk as a cartoon character:

Gronks superpower could be he spikes footballs into the ground, causing enemy to fall from the shock waves.

What would be some other players superpowers?

Ray Lewis: give pep talk to other good guys and they become stronger.
Sebastian Janikowski kicks the enemy away (but his team still loses).

Just 2 off the top of my head.
