Spot on Cur. When I was in school (many years ago)…bullying didn’t happen because kids intervened.
I was raised to intervene. Most kids were raised to intervene. If I saw someone picking on a smaller classmate I stepped in. That is what I compare this racist, anti-semitic nonesense too. Kids are taught that it is not to be tolerated. While it is certainly a terrible reflection on the offending kid and his parents…it speaks well of the kids who went home and told their parents about it.
Although a couple of teammates pounding this kid into submission would have also done the trick.

I’m frankly stunned that anything’s being done about it, actually. I grew up in Edmonton (St. Albert is little more than an Edmonton suburb) and talk like that was a daily occurrence. I counted it a good day if I didn’t have to lay hands on someone saying the equivalent of “go home N-word” to me or a family member. In fact, given what was said, how old the kid is, and where he lives, I bet I know that kid’s parents. My my. How times have changed. Now the other kids go home in tears and so on because someone used a racial taunt. Used to be you couldn’t get the little beggars to even admit that anything was said at all. Now they’re ratting each other out unbidden. Who says the world is getting worse? If this is proof of anything its that this shit is LESS tolerated rather than more.
