Peyton Manning’s got the munchies: QB bought 21 Papa John’s pizza franchises two weeks before Colorado legalized pot

We’re sure it’s just a coincidence … isn’t it? But Peyton Manning is someone who is known to really do his homework, and he may have been studying polling data before he went out and purchased 21 Papa John’s Pizza outlets last month. Noticing that Colorado’s Measure 64 had a good chance of getting voted in — in effect legalizing marijuana — what better investment than pizza for an entire state with the munchies?

Manning’s pizza joints (sorry) are all in the Denver area. Papa John’s also announced that it will continue to be the official pizza of the NFL and the Super Bowl.

Colorado’s Amendment 64 will allow adults over 21 to possess up to an ounce of marijuana, though using the drug publicly would be banned. The amendment would allow people to grow up to six marijuana plants in a private, secure area.

Possession of up two four slices of pizza for private use is also legal. However if you’re under the age of 16 or Tony Siragusa, possession of an entire large pepperoni is punishable by a fine.

Of course it’s hard to imagine a more clean-cut, anti-drug personalty than Peyton Manning, and we’re sure he’d have no truck with pot-related snack food strategies. It’s all just a big coincidence we’re sure. But if he starts buying Frito Lay stock, or is hanging out with Chester Cheetah, we may have to revise our thinking.

John Schnatter is an ******* owner. Manning just dropped a notch in my esteem book. Working in a pizza joint is hardly anybody’s idea of a “career,” but Schnatter goes out of his way to make sure his workers are paid as little as possible with no benefits of any kind. He’s fighting tooth and nail to keep from offering his employees any kind of health plan, even though I’ve seen estimates that it would add all of twenty cents to the cost of one of his pies. Apparently twenty cents out of his profit margin is just too much to ask, while he spends millions being the “official pizza” of football.

Benifits for working at a pizza place? Assuming it’s a min-wage job, all the positions will still be filled without giving benifits. Not to mention high schoolers that get the jobs… at least where I’m from. And those not in HS that have a job a the pizza place were either the manager, or someone that couldn’t get a different job after HS and they’ve been working there for 6 years.

Personal opinion, but not every job deserves benifits. If the boss wants to give them anyways, that generous of them. But they don’t have to, and it should be their choice.

It all finally comes together. This is why Peyton chose Denver:
    1. Chronic ailment
    2. No. 18 gangster jersey
    3. Legalized Pot
It’s getting all Breaking Bad up in Peyton-land. Papa Johns is a front. If Peyton asks any of you in Colorado to do him a favor, just smile and walk away… but don’t turn your back. And by no means do you let him Fredo-kiss you.

We assume that because Manning looks and acts clean cut that he would never smoke pot? I know a lot of clean cut, professional, well employed, family people that smoke weed like chimneys.
