Murphy ran an honest campaign. He actually made almost no mention of the WWE while campaigning, deciding instead to focus on the issues. No matter how poorly suited Linda McMahon seemed to the senate due to her wrestling background, it was Murphy’s focus on the real issues that defeated her.
