Athletes’ Twitter reaction to the election … LeBron thanks Ohio for bringing it home, Canseco rants, plus more

Nov 7, 2012, 9:00 AM EDT

I have to admit, when a reader pointed out that LeBron James’ support for President Obama could actually hurt Obama in Ohio, I thought he might have a point. King James didn’t exactly leave that state in the best of humors, after all. But it seems to have worked out.

After Tuesday night’s result became evident, LeBron tweeted props to fellow Ohioans. In fact, LeBron can boast that he helped deliver two states.

Meanwhile …

Kirkman is a pitcher for the Rangers, in case you didn’t know.

I bet LenDale White wishes Denver would re-sign him right about now.

You have to love Jose Conseco’s tweets. Here’s a guy who’s an admitted cheater and steroid user, calling someone else a bottom feeder. What a joke.

Anyone seen the stock market today? Good job Obama..

    • chicagofan - Nov 7, 2012 at 1:25 PM

Stock Market up over 65% under Obama and was down 55% under Bush…dumbass! You probably don’t have any money in the market anyway.

      • lewp - Nov 7, 2012 at 1:51 PM

        Rave on …..

You are right though, as of this morning, I took my money out of the marklet and put it in a safe place.

        • mattyflex - Nov 7, 2012 at 3:06 PM

If you invested money in stocks in the first place, you did so to grow your capital. Even in a savings account, the annual interest you will earn will be less than the value of inflation, so essentially you’re losing money.

Wait, I’m reading too far into all of this. If you’re so worried about Barack Obama and what he will do to the stock market, you should’ve taken your money out four years ago today.

          Your comments just suck.

Ah, yes the rich taking their money back because they know they’re going to get higher taxes. Good Job Obama!

    • grudenthediva - Nov 7, 2012 at 8:14 PM

Futures are falling off because the head of the EU said their economic troubles are starting to affect Germany’s economy. So, it’s not the election that’s causing it.

Nice try, though. Another four years of you whining about PRESIDENT Obama.

    • progress2011 - Nov 7, 2012 at 9:02 PM

You obviously don’t read much. The market was at 5995 when the President took office. So it is still more than DOUBLE, from the mess Dubya left.

Additionally, of you bothered reading, you’d know the reason for the drop off I because of what’s happening in Europe. Germany is showing more instability, which made investors anxious.

If you have access to cash, I can tutor you on reading and interpret complicated ideas for you. I’d take a down payment of only $50K….whatcha say ?

      • vikingquest1988 - Nov 8, 2012 at 11:02 AM

As an Obama supporter, I would think that if you could be a finance tutor and are business savvy, you should prolly take that 50K and split it up among all the people who helped you become those things.

Hey LeBron, stick to throwing balls in a ring! No one gives a sh*t what you think.

    • bahia2 - Nov 7, 2012 at 4:32 PM

Look on the bright side both will be gone in 4 years.

      • manchestermiracle - Nov 7, 2012 at 10:44 PM

In four years James will still be playing and you’ll have Hillary Clinton giving you nightmares.

  5. jimeejohnson - Nov 7, 2012 at 3:11 PM

LenDale went to college in SoCal. He must’ve developed quite a taste for the finest herb in the world. The legalization of cannabis, along with the defeat of the regressive candidates symbolizes a change in society that’s really gonna piss off the straight and narrow minded.

  6. blackandbluedivision - Nov 7, 2012 at 4:36 PM

Funny. He didn’t think FLA. That cuz they’re still counting?

    • manchestermiracle - Nov 8, 2012 at 11:57 AM

No, it’s because, finally, they simply don’t count. At all.

    • blackandbluedivision - Nov 8, 2012 at 1:13 PM

      that should be *thank

    • skids003 - Nov 8, 2012 at 3:54 PM

      The key word is “think.”
