Put a ring on it: Beyonce to headline Super Bowl halftime show

Your next Super Bowl halftime entertainment headliner shall be: Beyonce. And once again my pleas for The Spoon Man are ignored.

Look, for sheer controversy and twitter appeal, no one’s going to beat Madonna from this year’s SB. But Beyonce’s nice, I suppose. Associated Press:

If Beyonce’s performance at the Pepsi NFL Halftime Show features collaborations, it could likely include husband-rapper Jay-Z and her Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.

It’s very bold an uncharacteristic of the NFL to use a Super Bowl halftime headliner who is younger than 50. In 2014 it’s Pete Seeger for sure.

Note to all potential halftime counter-programmers -that clicking sound you hear is the sound of channels being changed all across America. This is the first time since the 2004 Janet Jackson, P. Diddy, Nelly, and Justin Timberlake fiasco that over 90% of game’s audience will be tuning out from the halftime show (truth in advertising time I shut off the Black Eyed Peas but that was only after it was obvious that they were giving a horrible performance –not before it began). I’d rather switch over to PBS for an exciting Masterpiece Theater episode than have my ears bleed from her garbage.

Maybe she’ll back out like she did on Clint Eastwood. What was behind that, you reckin?

Beyonce? really? Oh now I understand. All the artists with talent were unavailable.

Well, at least we can hope for another wardrobe malfunction. But I’m not sure she’s the best choice, although she’s closer to the right age group.
