Ichiro Suzuki is terrified by this strange, bubbly liquid

Oct 4, 2012, 12:15 PM EDT

Ichiro Suzuki, Joba Chamberlain AP

Well, he did spend 11 years with the Mariners — he’s probably never seen champagne. #Zinger.

The Yankees clinched the AL West East crown on the final day of the season on Wednesday, touching off the requisite champagne celebration — a concept that has definitely jumped the shark. How about the next time a team wins a title, a nice high tea with scones and muffins? Anyway, here’s Joba Chamberlain dousing Ichiro with carbonated booze. Ahh! It burns!

Speaking of Ichiro, did Yankees’ broadcaster David Cone really call his bat a chopstick the other day? Wow. That’s a big bowl of wrong.

Why would calling it a chopstick be wrong? It’s not racist. It’s funny. Lighten up.

    AL West?

What the article doesn’t tell you is that in the photo Joba is actually telling Ichiro that he is quitting
drinking (hence the dumping out of the booze behind Ichiro) and Ichiro is moved to tears by the emotion of the moment.

Rick, don’t you mean, “That’s a big bowl of Wong“?

Dude’s not even Chinese. Wong, indeed.

Actually, if you would do a little research like a good journalist would (is there such a thing anymore), you would recall Seattle winning a Division early in his career.

And the comment by David Cone, only someone really hunting for BS would see that as racist, but after all, that’s the liberal way.
