In which Dick Vitale warns mankind of the Amanda Bynes menace

Anyone who follows Dick Vitale on Twitter knows that the excitable broadcaster is an up-with-people kind of a guy — his messages usually run along the lines of: @ DickyV I am already in ND mood as I can’t wait 4 game vs UM-visit if in area I am raising dollars 4 research @ Broken Egg LWR . Yep, he does a lot for charity and you never have to guess who his favorite teams/coaches are.

That’s why this Vitale tweet is so spectacular in its oddness:

As if you didn’t know, Bynes is an actress (Easy A, Hairspray) who’s had a series of recent driving-related run-ins with the law — as in, allegedly driving while intoxicated, driving without insurance, leaving the scene of an accident, and starring in the film She’s the Man — all somewhat serious offenses.

But why Vitale has suddenly deemed it necessary to warn us of the Bynes menace is shrouded in mystery. Was his account hacked? Was he sleep-typing? Was it that third glass of chardonnay? Or perhaps, like some of us, he still thinks of Bynes as that precocious Nickelodeon teen on All That, and is reluctant to relinquish that image of innocence.

Sorry Dick, those days are gone and never coming back. And brace yourself, but Kenan & Kel is also gone.
