Earlier we told you of the guy who folded on a multi-million pot while holding four-of-a-kind (eights). If that doesn’t sound like something from the movies, this will: the eventual runner-up in that tournament, who won $10.1 million, was beaten up by six assailants as he and his girlfriend left the casino in Las Vegas.

British poker pro Sam Trickett, who came in second in the World Series Of Poker Big One For One Drop on Sunday, was assaulted by six people, the cause of which is shrouded in mystery. No money was taken, apparently.

Trickett, who received $10.1 million for coming so close to victory in poker’s historic event, tweeted, “Was having a great day until 6 guys did this to me.Seriously Wtf? Couldn’t be more angry… #cowards” He also attached the picture to the left, which shows the injuries to his face.

An hour later, he wrote, “Is this what happens if ur successful? literally beat the shit out of me and spat in @NatashaSandhu face all over nothing…”

Read about it on their respective Twitter accounts here and here.

Anyway, Trickett should take comfort in the fact that he still has $10.1 million, and those six guys are sharing the special at Denny’s.

An innocent man gets assaulted by six men, so how does the author begin his article? With a joke.

    You’re all class, Rick Chandler.

Must not be a very funny joke. I didn’t get it. What i did get was a “Geez, can you believe this? It’s like something from a movie.” Which it is.

    Now that’s what I call a ‘bad beat’ . . . .

If I ventured a guess, I’d say those six had laid down some cash on Trickett to win. Unfortunately for them, casinos have a lot of video footage, which Trickett will now sift through, he’ll find the assailants on video, and they’ll be arrested and prosecuted for assault and battery and (hopefully) get jail time. You just can’t teach stupid. Some people, like these six, are just inherently better at it than others.

These six were disadvantaged and didn’t mean it.
