Jered Weaver sings along to ‘Hit the Road, Jack’ as he’s removed from game (video)

Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Jered Weaver walks off the field after being pulled against the Texas Rangers in Arlington, Texas Reuters

Hey, in his defense, it is a catchy tune. Less than two weeks after throwing a no-hitter for the Angels, Jered Weaver was knocked around to the tune of 10 hits and eight earned runs over 3 1/3 innings vs. the Rangers on Sunday. When they came out to get him in the fourth, the kind folks at Texas Rangers Ballpark decided that Hit the Road, Jack by Ray Charles would be an appropriate parting gift. And not one to look a gift song in the mouth, Weaver decided to sing along.

They’ve been playing that song for Wings games at the Joe for the past 20 years (at least) when an opposing player goes into the penalty box.
