Getty Images Bad news, America: the Canadians own the land speed toilet record. Write a song about that, Lee Greenwood! Canadian stuntwoman Jolene Van Vugt reached a top speed of 46.6 mph on a motorized toilet to set a Guiness World Record. It happened today in Sydney, Aus., home of sunshine and sharks, and now host to the fastest commode. My favorite graph of the story:
After a few technical issues with the toilet Van Vugt beat the existing record of 68 km/h by 7 km/h, after completing the stunt in both directions with an average of the two speeds taken to give her the new world record.
How many things in your life could begin with the words “After a few technical issues with the toilet …”
“I flew into Australia yesterday and came out here to jump straight on the toilet,” said the 31-year-old.
“That was so fun and I’m stoked to get the record.”
Van Vugt, who is in Australia to perform at the Nitro Circus stunt show based on the hit MTV series, holds a host of world records, including being the first woman to backflip a dirt bike.
