FC Barcelona coach wants to dump star player because he’s dating Shakira

My favorite Shakira headline of all time, of course, is this one: ‘Shakira attacked by sea lion’. But my second-favorite is the one I saw today on MSNBC: ‘Dating Shakira could get soccer player kicked off team’. As you know from your extensive research, FC Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué, who also plays for the Spanish National team, has a hot and steamy relationship with Colombian singer-songwriter and Waka-Waka enthusiast Shakira.
But Pique’s relationship with the singer has not met with the approval of his coach, who considers her a team-wrecker.
Piqué plays for both the Spanish national team and for FC Barcelona, and Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola is allegedly threatening to leave the team if the 25-year-old star defender doesn’t get the boot first.
According to reports, Guardiola isn’t exactly thrilled with the influence of the Latin pop star on his player’s game, deeming Shakira “too big of a distraction” for Piqué.
A headline on NESN.com calls Shakira the club’s “Yoko Ono,” and the story says problems began when Pique posted photos of himself vacationing with Shakira last summer.
This would be the American equivalent of the Yankees asking Alex Rodriguez to dump Cameron Diaz, which he did, but not because the team told him to.
Anyway, speculation is that it’s far more likely that Barcelona would let Guardiola leave than to give Pique an ultimatum.
My advice to Guardiola? Just relax and let nature take its course. This won’t last, as is proven by my third-favorite Shakira headline: ‘Shakira And Boyfriend Gerard Pique Keep Their Relationship Alive With A Game Of Scrabble’.

I was going to say something like, “you can’t have sex with a soccer ball”, but then I realized I really don’t know enough about the game to make a comment like that. Maybe he should dump her. I dunno.

When you play soccer on cable, you become an international star. When you become an international star, you meet other international stars. When you meet other international stars, you date an international star. When you date an international star, you have sex that adversely affects your on-field performance. Don’t adversely affect your on-field performance. Get rid of cable. Upgrade to Direct TV.
