Manny Pacquiao says God has told him to retire

It seems that even God is tired of waiting for a Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight. “Look,” says the Almighty. “If you’re not going to fight, I’m just going to send Floyd to prison, and make Manny do politics full time. Which amounts to the same thing, really.”

Of course all of this happened in Manny’s head, in a dream. He revealed as much during a Filipino radio interview recently, saying that God has told him it will soon time to hand up the gloves. Pacquiao:

“I will not stay long in boxing because He said ‘You have done enough. You have made yourself famous, but this is harmful.’ “

Pacquiao also said, in another interview, that he has stopped drinking and womanizing. He said in that interview that he did not want to harm anybody, inside the ring or out of it. That must come as good news to Timothy Bradley, who takes on Pacquiao for the World Boxing Organization welterweight title on June 9 in Las Vegas.

Is Pacquiao really close to retirement? Let’s go to promoter Bob Arum for the answer:

“If I said ‘Yes, I think he’s going to retire,’ I’d be accused of using this to hype up sales,” Arum told Yahoo! Sports on Monday. “The answer is, I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t know. When he talks to me, he talks differently, but we haven’t talked in weeks. When I was in the Philippines, we had a lot of religious discussions, but he said nothing that would indicate he is going to retire soon. I’ve learned, though, that when you’re dealing with religious stuff, you never know.”

Pacquiao is said to be getting ready to run for governor of his province in the Philippines, which would further indicate that his boxing career has a rather short shelf life.

Most boxers can’t even talk when they retire so I hope he does. Plus I don’t want Mayweather to get the pay day that is going to come if they fight. I want to see that loser broke on day. He is a scum bag.

Cool. Manny has God talking to him, and Floyd will be finding God in prison (after he finds a new friend in the shower).

I think Mayweather and Manny are equally culpable in their NON-fight. They both let their respective egos get in the way of what would easily be each other’s biggest payday ever. The only ones that “suffer”, if that term can be used to describe something as meaningless as a boxing match, are the fans. And neither of these two really care about the fans. They only care about the money that those “fans” will spend to watch them. Screw ‘em both.

BTW, “goforth”, I really don’t think Floyd’s all that terribly concerned about finding friends in a prison shower. If you were there, would you f*ck with him? Nah. Me neither.

      1-I’m not in prison.
2-Floyd’s not the hardass he wants to appear to be, otherwise they would’ve already fought and this conversation wouldn’t be necessary.
3-There are some bad people in prison, like really bad. They may not care if Floyd want’s to be friendly; indeed, they may prefer he not be interested.
