LeBron James’ mom sentenced for slapping valet

Mar 5, 2012, 1:40 PM EDT

Gloria James AP

Remember when Gloria James slapped a valet and was arrested for public intoxication at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach last year? Today she struck a deal with prosecutors so that she won’t spend any jail time over the incident. TMZ:

Under the terms of the deal, the court has agreed to dismiss the public intoxication charge against Gloria … if she completes 20 hours of community service, stays away from Sorel and donates $1,000 to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund. FYI — Sorel is Haitian and personally agreed to the deal.

In case you haven’t seen the video … Gloria was wildly swinging her purse … during the late-night altercation.

What a joke. Money can get you out of everything.

What a joke is right. $1,000 to that guy is like 12-cents to anyone else. Big deal. PLEASE follow-up on this story, Rick, regarding the “20 hours of community service”. I can’t stand LeBum, but I can’t wait to hear what this 20 hours will entail.

Who the hell does she think she is, just because her son is a star I do not feel that she should get off that easy, how about some really time. If it was just a fan you bet they would not get off with community service.

She’s a foul-mouthed, disgusting pig. Hope that valet stuck it to her with his settlement out of court.

Keep in mind at 18 Lebron James was driving a Hummer to high school having the title “King James” without having really won anything major in his career.

How could the parents of King James not feel just as entitled as their son for all the things he’s supposed to be without having accomplished anything.

    College Education: Pass
    Paying for things: Pass
Last shot of a basketball game: Pass (to somebody else)

She wouldn’t have pulled this attitude 10 years ago.

Actually, I bet should would, and did. Big money doesn’t change you, as much as it allows your true personality to show. If you are a good person, you will use your money to help other people and do good things. If you are a bad person, you will act like the rules don’t apply to you and you can do anything you want, because the money will fix it. I am sure she was treating people poorly 10 years ago, but it just wasn’t in the limelight where anyone else sees it.

      • namriverrat69 - Mar 5, 2012 at 9:22 PM

She had local stature back then but without all his money. I would bet she may have had the attitude but not the position and $$. She now has national and global stature with the money that goes with it for being so special by giving birth to her king james version.

How old was she when she had her immaculate conception birth of king james, 15 or 16?

Hey, Miami prosecutor —– PLEA BARGAIN ? If you want to put an end to this type of behavior, take the case to court, and if you win, fine the guilty person (certainly NO lady) and put her in JAIL for a year. Now THAT LESSON would be taken to heart by the community. The lesson being that money and/or fame will not buy you out of facing ustice. Money certainly does not buy you class. What a disgusting performance by disgusting human.
