Dereck Chisora slaps Vitali Klitschko at weigh-in … which may not have been wise

Reuters Coming in at No. 2 on my list of monumentally bad ideas — right behind splashing noisily in hippo-infested waters — is slapping WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko during a weigh-in. That’s what British challenger Dereck Chisora did today during the weigh-in for their Saturday title fight in Munich.
Perhaps Chisora thought his identity would be concealed by the Union Jack handkerchief he wore on his face. the two camps had to be pried apart after Chisora hauled off and slapped his opponent during the traditional stare-down. Klitschko did not retaliate.
And now on Saturday will come the airing of grievances.
ESPN:
The WBC champion is 40, while Chisora is 28. But Klitschko has a massive advantage in height and reach — he is 6-foot-7 and has an 80-inch reach; Chisora is 6-2 with a 74-inch reach — and few give Chisora a chance of an upset.
Klitschko weighed in at 243½ pounds, Chisora at 241 pounds.
“I am going to hit back on Saturday,” the Ukrainian champion said. “He will get his beating.”
Think Dolph Lundgren in Rocky IV, only without a script that lets Rocky win.

What a trip! I have the feeling Klitschko will carry this guy for a few rounds if he gets him hurt and punish him.

Agreed, though, it’d be even funnier if it’s a first round KO, and at the post fight interviews in the ring, Klitchko’s attorney comes in and delivers assault charges. Technically, it’s assault. Beat his a$$ in the ring, and then put him away for a bit just to make it sting that much more.
