If you’re like me, you’re constantly angered by the necessity of taking off your skis just to get a delicious Caramel Macchiato. But that’s a thing of the past now that I’ve discovered the ski-thru Starbucks at Squaw Valley Ski Resort near Lake Tahoe, Calif. The Starbucks with a window facing the slopes opened on Friday, and is the first of its kind, according to public relations manager Amelia Richmond. One catch: It’s located at the resort’s Gold Coast complex, adjacent to the gold coast chairlift: 8,000 feet above where you’d usually find a Starbucks.
Said Andy Wirth, Squaw Valley’s president and CEO: “Nowhere else in the world can skiers and riders enjoy a delicious Starbucks coffee without missing a beat on the slopes.”
You won’t miss a beat? That’s one efficient drive-thru window.
