Rory McIlroy once posed as a photographer to follow Tiger Woods

Before Rory McIlroy became the toast of PGA Tour, Rory was just like every other young golfer idolizing the success of one, Tiger Woods.

Back in 2006, McIlroy was playing in Dubai for the Desert Classic as an amateur and decided to use his resourcefulness to find a way to pursue Mr. Woods.

McIlroy posed as a photographer and followed Woods around during his round:

“I remember I played on Thursday morning, and then on Thursday afternoon Tiger was playing. I came out in the afternoon and took one of the photographer’s cameras off of him and was able to follow inside the ropes, which was pretty cool.

McIlroy won the Dubai Desert Classic in 2009 and that time, he didn’t need to follow Tiger.
