As defensive lineman Cortez Kennedy became the second Seattle Seahawks player to be named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, you can understand his excitement to reminisce about the good old days.

Kennedy recently did an interview with Seattle sports radio KJR’s “Mitch in The Morning” and was asked a question about knowing when he was a special player.

Cortez bestowed this story about former University of Miami coach Randy Shannon helping him with his weight:

“I knew I was special when Randy Shannon … used to stay in my apartment and watched the refrigerator so I wouldn’t get up and eat late at night, would get up early in the morning at the University of Miami, working out three times a day, not eating that much, drinking a lot of water.”
