Wait, didn’t Madonna used to be the outrageous, controversial one? Perhaps a bit miffed that a supporting performer stole the spotlight in her own show, Madonna is reportedly “livid” with British singer M.I.A. for her middle finger salute during the Super Bowl halftime performance. MSNBC Today:

“M.I.A. did nothing similar in rehearsals,” an anonymous source tells British tabloid The Sun. “Nobody knew she was going to pull this stunt. Madonna wanted to put on a world-beating performance. But everyone ended up talking about this girl’s middle finger.”

According to another source quoted in the article, M.I.A. didn’t plan the rude gesture. “She wasn’t thinking,” that source told the Sun. “She was caught in the moment and she’s incredibly sorry.”

But Madonna can cry all the way to Gringotts. She’s just about to start a world tour, and British fans are complaining that tickets to her show are selling for as much as 125 pounds ($197) each. Nothing like a little Super Bowl flipping-the-bird controversy to heighten ticket demand.

How else would you expect an ignoramus to act?

Of course Madonna’s mad, MIA is getting more press than she is.

Everyone, including Madonna, lip-synced during this performance. This is the “talent” we have today. They have to do something outrageous because true talent is lacking.

ANYONE who would kick out $197 to see madonna has only him/herself to blame.
