Alec Baldwin learns how to Tebow from the man himself (video)
Feb 5, 2012, 6:31 AM EDT
Reuters Best line by Alec Baldwin, who played host at the NFL Honors on NBC Saturday night:
Early in his monologue, Baldwin pretended he saw Madonna — who’s performing at halftime of the game between the New England Patriots and New York Giants in the audience. He then pointed out it was instead Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews.
“I was confused by the hair and biceps,” he said to a roomful of laughs. Matthews, for the moment, didn’t look too amused.
Baldwin jabbed a famous reality show family, too. Mentioning the power and popularity of the NFL, “It would take 800 years for the Kardashians to date and destroy all of them.”
Best visual moment: When Tim Tebow walked onto the stage to correct Baldwin’s attempt at Tebowing. Baldwin to Tebow: “Bless you.”
There’s something very surreal in seeing a closeup of Joe Montana laughing as Tim Tebow teaches Alec Baldwin how to pray. A week from now I’ll be positive I just dreamed that.
Of course I would have preferred that Baldwin reprise this:
“We’re adding a little something to this year’s Super Bowl — as you all know first prize is a Cadillac El Dorado. Want to know what second prize is? Second prize is a set of steak knives.”

Looks like I picked a bad day to give up amphetamines. No one was injured when the main cabin door fell off of a jet and landed on a golf course in Florida on Friday. I keep begging people who sit next to that thing to read the instructions. VOOMP! “Stewardess? Can I have another…

We tend to suffer from a severe case of myopia here in the U.S., especially when it comes to sports. When you hear the term “Most marketable athlete,” I’ll bet your thoughts go straight to Michael Jordan or LeBron James or Tom Brady. There is, however, a big wide world out there whose residents also…

Linda McMahon is running for a seat in the U.S. Senate from Connecticut once again. The former World Wrestling Entertainment CEO and wife of Vince McMahon mounted an unsuccessful Senate bid in 2010, as you may recall, which was derailed in part because Democrats played up her connection to pro wrestling. Ideology aside, I think…

Tom Brady Sr. was not your typical youth sports parent. Although his son Tom was a great baseball player in Little League, his father wouldn’t let him throw a curve, for fear of hurting his arm. And he wouldn’t let him play football until he was 14. (Details on one of those first games here).…

The debate rages: have we seen the last Tiger Woods golf title?
