Alec Baldwin learns how to Tebow from the man himself (video)

Feb 5, 2012, 6:31 AM EDT

Denver Broncos quarterback Tebow helps host Baldwin with his trademark pre-game pose during the inaugural National Football League Honors at the Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis Reuters

Best line by Alec Baldwin, who played host at the NFL Honors on NBC Saturday night:

Early in his monologue, Baldwin pretended he saw Madonna — who’s performing at halftime of the game between the New England Patriots and New York Giants in the audience. He then pointed out it was instead Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews.

“I was confused by the hair and biceps,” he said to a roomful of laughs. Matthews, for the moment, didn’t look too amused.

Baldwin jabbed a famous reality show family, too. Mentioning the power and popularity of the NFL, “It would take 800 years for the Kardashians to date and destroy all of them.”

Best visual moment: When Tim Tebow walked onto the stage to correct Baldwin’s attempt at Tebowing. Baldwin to Tebow: “Bless you.”

There’s something very surreal in seeing a closeup of Joe Montana laughing as Tim Tebow teaches Alec Baldwin how to pray. A week from now I’ll be positive I just dreamed that.

Of course I would have preferred that Baldwin reprise this:

“We’re adding a little something to this year’s Super Bowl — as you all know first prize is a Cadillac El Dorado. Want to know what second prize is? Second prize is a set of steak knives.”
