Call him Mr. Plowed.

It happened in Apple Valley, Minn., where 34-year-old Joel Buss was arrested for what authorities are saying was driving a Zamboni while drunk during a Pee Wee hockey game. Buss had maneuvered the Zamboni onto the ice during a break in the action of a youth hockey match at Hayes Arena, when parents noticed that the vehicle was weaving and driving erratically. PIX, Minneapolis-St. Paul:

Parents had to pull their children away from the glass of the Hayes Arena hockey rink after an allegedly inebriated Joel Buss began ‘weaving’ erratically, prompting police to give him a field sobriety test — which he failed.

After a reportedly miserable attempt to clean the ice, Buss had trouble parking the machine and was confronted by hockey coach Bryan Dornstreich. Buss was slurring heavily, had red eyes and reportedly smelled like the energy drink Red Bull — prompting Dornstreich to call 9-1-1.

That may be my favorite paragraph of the year.

When police arrived they say they saw Buss struggling to get the Zamboni off the ice and said his breath smelled like alcohol.

5 EYEWITNESS News contacted the Apple Valley Parks and Recreation director but he declined to comment on the situation. We also checked and found Buss has three prior DWI convictions, according to state records. He was twice convicted in 1999 and once in 2002.
