Catholic Church wants Manny Pacquiao to be ‘the Tim Tebow of the Philippines’

Getty Images After telling a Philippine TV station that he had “an encounter with God” during a dream, Manny Pacquiao is now being sought by the Catholic Church to be the country’s bible ambassador. But not only that: one bishop wants Pacquiao to go Full Tebow.
“Tim Tebow became very popular by promoting the word of God,” Bishop Pablo Virgilio David, who presides over the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines’ (CBCP) bible ministry, told Agence France-Presse. “Some have referred to Manny Pacquiao as the Tim Tebow of the Philippines.”
It was in mid-January that Pacquiao told the TV station ABS-CBN about his renewed faith, in which he decided to give up womanizing and gambling due to a dream he had about God.
Pacquiao said a dream he had after his fight with Juan Manuel Marquez last November started him on the road to change. In his dream, he said he was walking inside a beautiful forest when a bright light shone on him and a voice asked: “Son, why are you going away from me?”
“I woke up crying. I remember I was crying in my dream and when I touched my pillow, it was wet,” he said.”
Tebow was born in the Philippines, where his father, Bob Tebow, had started the Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association. So far, Pacquiao has not agreed to be the country’s new Tebow. If he does, then I want Tebow to fight Floyd Mayweather. Only fair.

so, just so we’re clear, no church or bishop anywhere asked/told Tebow to do what he does.
But, I can agree with the idea that some church leaders on the Philippines would be happy if Pacquiao just happened to naturally act like Tebow. I guess time will tell

“So far, Pacquiao has not agreed to be the country’s new Tebow. If he does, then I want Tebow to fight Floyd Mayweather. Only fair.”…notice no
nor j/kok now, r.chandler/NBC dont start corrupting filipinos now creating conflict/controversy between the two causing chaos among us, leave that to the americans who are so great at.
i wish tiger had stayed w/ tebow to play w/ (for that’s all tebow wanted) and not got sold by haters or attention-seekers who are good at causing controversy, but tiger did to lay low, IDK why some choose to side w/ negative(haters) for support/protection than positive (tebow), too bad. hopefully there’ll be other opportunity where he’ll choose the other way which nothing else but pure fun and game…peace, go! tebow/pacquiao

And once again the Mayweather/Pacquio fight doesnt happen. By the time they do fight both will be so over the hill nobody will give a damn. This fight should of happened in 2007 when both were at their best.
