Costa Rica women’s soccer goalie misses teammates pass, gives up own goal (video)

The Internet has given us many memorable soccer own goals to view but this one from a Women’s Olympics qualifying match between Costa Rica and Canada might be one of the worst own goals of all-time.

Just as the second half began, Costa Rica defender Marianne Ugaldedid decided to try and pass the ball back to her goalie Julieth Arias to clear the ball out.

Instead of clearing it out, Arias missed the ball as it traveled into the net for an own goal:
