It happened in Námestovo, Slovakia, where former NHL forward Richard Zednik was on the ice with a group of youth players when the ice rink’s roof collapsed due to the weight of the snow. It appears that no one was injured, thank goodness. And kudos to whomever shot the video, because I would have dropped the camera and been in Hungary by the time it was over.
After showing the players in the middle of a leisurely skate, the video jumps to an exodus as cracks begin to form and spread across the roof. The whole thing collapses within just a few seconds. The camera goes back in when it is all quiet, with the roof having bent to leave only a tunnel between the arena walls and the boards.
