When we left the Yuri Wright story last week, the four-star defensive back prospect had just been expelled from Don Bosco Prep (NJ) over x-rated, offensive comments he sent on his Twitter account. Today it’s being reported that Wright has committed to the University of Colorado. Wright had been courted by several top schools, one of which, Michigan, reportedly rescinded their scholarship offer after he was expelled. It’s unclear if the others, among them Notre Dame and Rutgers, also turned sour on him.

Anyway, Wright is a Buffalo now, according to BuffScoop, and SB Nation.

At 6’2″ and 185 pounds, Wright has prototypical size for the position. He’s long and strong, and his speed is adequate. He’s extremely versatile, and should have no problem playing both man and zone coverage. And he’s not afraid to be physical with opposing receivers. There are very few weaknesses in Wright’s game that can’t be fixed with some coaching and experience.

I’d also recommend taking away his cell phone.

The character issue is in big-time play here. We’ll be watching your progress with great interest, young Wright.
