The Swiss Ski Federation launched an investigation into a Slovenian skier’s underwear last week, and there you have the most awesome sentence in winter sports so far this year. On Sunday before a World Cup super-G race in Italy, Tina Maze stripped to her sports bra for cameramen, where she had written a message with a marking pen: “Not your business.” (Link to photo here. Video following the jump). The exhibitionism was to protest the controversy over the underwear she wears in races, which was protested by the Swiss team last week. Which reminds me of a Groucho Marx punchline: “How they got into my underwear, I’ll never know.”

The Swiss Ski Federation launched an investigation into the alleged “performance enhancing underwear” she wore at a Super G race in Austria, where she finished second. The contention was that the plastic level in Maze’s one-piece garment exceeded International Ski Federation rules, giving her an aerodynamic edge. But the group eventually ruled that the underwear was OK, although they recommended that skiers not wear it due to health reasons.
