SFPD will have undercover cops dressed as NY Giants fans on Sunday

Getty Images Taken aback by reports of loutish behavior by 49ers fans toward Saints fans last week, the 49ers are beefing up security at Candlestick Park on Sunday — promising 25 percent more police for the NFL Championship Game showdown with the NY Giants. But here’s the best part: a detail of undercover cops will dress as Giants fans.
So before you hurl graphic expletives — or beer cups — at the fellow in the blue jersey, be aware that he could be packing handcuffs and mace.
Also, the 49ers will be taking out a full-page ad in the San Francisco Chronicle on Sunday, pleading with their fans to be civil.
“Let’s show the entire nation the class of the Niners and our great community,” Jed York, chief executive officer of the San Francisco 49ers, says in the ad.
I enjoyed it much better when Niners fans treated games like a Victorian wine-and-cheese picnic.
