NJ Gov. Chris Christie calls dibs on the Giants Super Bowl victory parade

There is no surer way to anger the Football Gods than to make plans for a Super Bowl victory parade when your team is still two wins from getting there. But that didn’t stop New Jersey Governor Chris Christie from demanding that his state should get the honor.

During an appearance on the Today show on Wednesday morning, Christie pointed out that the Giants both play and train in New Jersey, and therefore should get the parade.

When “Today” host Matt Lauer pointed out the Giants logo, which adorns the team’s helmets, is an “NY,” Christie retorted, “That’s about it.”

If Christie and Mike Bloomberg get into a knock-down, drag-out fight over this, may I offer a third alternative? Baltimore.

I live in Manhattan and my only experience with New Jersey is going to concerts, sporting events and an occasional trip to the mall. Based on that limited experience, I can’t for the life of me think of where the parade could take place in NJ. Sure they have smaller parades in towns but are those towns really equiped to handle a major parade on this magnitude?

Or are they planing to have the parade on I95? lol

Why should New Jersey tax payers foot the bill for this? Half the state hates the Giants and roots for the Eagles. Christie should worry about his job as I doubt he gets re-elected. Besides he can just get his fat ass on the helicopter and go to the parade, on NJ tax payers back. What a douche bag!
