Fat Bruins fan will not tolerate mascot silly stringing (video)

The best thing about this video (following the jump) is the reaction of Thunderbug, the Tampa Bay Lightning’s mascot. Thunderbug had just hit a hefty Bruins fan with a large helping of Silly String, which angered the fan to the point where he left his seat and pushed Thunderbug to the floor. As security rushed in to subdue the fan, Thunderbug struck a pose as if to say: “Oh no you din’t.”

Upshot: Bruins fan is escorted away, taunted by the crowd. Humiliation complete.

Tampa Bay Online:

ThunderBug seemed to take satisfaction, pointing toward the exit while the man was led out of the section. As the fan walked up the aisle, he confronted ThunderBug face-to-face and then turned around to yell at the crowd.

Lightning spokesman Bill Wickett said the matter was being reviewed by the team and couldn’t say whether the mascot was out of line.

“The fan was taken out of the seat for a few minutes, talked to and then allowed to return to his seat,” Wickett said. “We had no other incident with the fan for the rest of the game.”

Bonus: Hilarious argument about the incident in the comments section of the Tampa Tribune.
