Getty Images Forget golf … Dancing With the Stars champion Karina Smirnoff told People Magazine that she wants Tim Tebow as her next partner on the show. And what Karina wants, Karina gets.
Actually I have no idea if Karina ever gets what she wants, but it’s true that she covets Tebow, which will likely mean an invitation for the Broncos’ single-wing tailback quarterback.
“All I want for my birthday is for Tim Tebow to dance on Dancing with the Stars,” she said Saturday, not long after Tebow and his Broncos team were ousted from the NFL playoffs by Tom Brady and his Patriots. “Tim is a very talented athlete, that was clear when we saw his performance this past season with Denver.”
In the next season of the Dancing with the Stars, she’s hoping to have a football-playing partner.
“He can run, jump, pass, throw touchdowns,” she told People. “All [that] is missing is to see if he has the dance skills. That would make him an all around athlete and someone that I would love to dance with on the show.”
Ha. You know, that’s the first thing that scouts look for in a quarterback at the NFL combine: “Can he jump?” I also enjoy how she divided ‘pass’ and ‘throw touchdowns’ into two separate categories.
Anyway: For the record, she’s probably exaggerating when she says that this is all she wants for her birthday. She’s not giving any of her gifts back.
Also I am shocked with your assumption that all Smirnoff is trying to do here is feed on Tebow’s ascending celebrity, like some sort of dancing vampire. Shame on you.

Timmy needs to decline this! DWTS should not be going after player who are STILL in the league. This stuff is way too time consuming for these players to do while they need to be working with their teammates in the off-season.
You would think after the first time the media tried to bring in a quarterback to their reality shows: Jessie Palmer (another UF grad), it killed his career because he should have been working with his teammates over the summer. Not like JP was any good anyway, benched for Rexy when Rex was only a freshman. But it is the principle of the ordeal! No player from any sport should partake in any reality show that takes away valuable time from working with the team that pays you millions of dollars.
Do the same as Victor Cruz, decline.

Wow, Rick, you really despise Tebow, don’t you? Jealous? Or just don’t like people with conservative views? Maybe Karina gets her pick, but I doubt it. Bet with his fan base, he would win.
