Rick Perry at debate: ‘I hope I am the Tim Tebow of the Iowa caucuses’

You knew it was going to happen: the only question was which Republican Presidential candidate would be the first to co-opt Tebowmania for his or her campaign push. Our winner: Rick Perry, which actually makes sense. Perry’s lagging in the polls, has low expectations and needs to begin a winning streak. Also like Tebow, not much accuracy.

So at the GOP debate in Sioux City Thursday night, Perry went right to work, doing everything except getting down on the stage and Tebowing. Um, he didn’t do that, did he?

“There are a lot of folks that said Tim Tebow wasn’t going to be a very good NFL quarterback. There are people that stood up and said, well he doesn’t have the right throwing mechanisms, or he’s not playing the game right,” Perry said. “And he won two national championships, and that looked pretty good. We were the national champions in job creation back in Texas. And so, am I ready for the next level? Let me tell you, I hope I am the Tim Tebow of the Iowa caucuses.”

That’s great. But now, next in the draft, Newt Gingrich chooses to be TJ Yates, and Mitt Romney gets Alex Smith. The winner faces Drew Brees (Barack Obama) in the general election.

Dear Lord/Tebow, please cleanse the Earth of all these shameless, lying politicians with their embarrassingly transparent attempts at pandering to the public. I can’t take a full year of this infuriating puppet show.

      Ron Paul will do that.

      Or try, anyway

1Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

2Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

3But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

4That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

8Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

last night’s Beavis and Butt-head showed them in the Highland TX post office and Perry’s photo was on the wall. so he has that going for him…which is nice.

he’s better off talking that up than doing this Tebow stretch.

One more reason to HATE Rick Perry.

Perry has no political beliefs of his own… his allegiance is to the highest bidder. The only way that he’d be like Tebow is if he and his sub-par campaign found a way to win.
