Tim Tebow says he’s never heard of the SI Jinx

Perhaps the secret to avoiding the Sports Illustrated cover jinx is to be totally unaware of the Sports Illustrated cover jinx. That seems to have worked just fine for Tim Tebow, who admitted to reporters last week that he had never heard of it. The Dish:

Tim Tebow, who appears on the front of this week’s edition of Sports Illustrated, was asked if he’s worried about the legendary SI Cover Jinx. Tebow’s response was … notable.

“What is that?” Tebow asked San Diego reporters on a conference call, according to the North County Times. He added that he hadn’t “heard” about it.

“I heard of the Madden Jinx,” the Heisman Trophy winner said.

And why should Tebow be concerned with something that doesn’t effect him? The Broncos beat the Chargers on Sunday, 16-13. Plus, Tebow was on the cover of SI six times while he was at Florida. The jinx, I don’t think she is working.

Nope, SI Jinx has skipped Tebow. Even Elway with his famous rifle arm is amused with Tebow and supportive. Hopefully, Tebow is working on his passing timing, and all other things related that he needs to work on to expand his game, but so far his teammates love him, his coach has changed the offensive system completely to accommodate Tebow and what they are doing works. Somehow, some way this Tebow is able to lead the Broncos to victories by rushing. If he keeps it up, there will be many others around the world that will be Tebowing.

Jinx didn’t effect Aaron Rodgers and his wide receivers. They dismantled the Vikings 45-7 the game after the issue was released.

Although I would say the Jinx did effect Tebow, he only completed 50% of his passes and had only 9 completions, all game. 9 completions for a game that went to overtime, that is terrible. Oh wait, those awful numbers are actually good for Tebow. My bad.
