Meet Thomas Trinkle, 18, from Georgetown, Indiana. To say he’s a Colts fan would be selling him short … you see, Mr. Trinkle has worn a Colts jersey for what is now fast approaching 3,000 straight days. Yep, for about eight years, since he was ten years old. From the Courier-Journal:

The Trinkle men became season-ticket holders, with the son eager to become much more. He went on to bet three friends $5 he would wear a Colts shirt every day for the remainder of their fifth-grade year. “Never got paid,” Trinkle said.

The Trinkles take in training camp, amass autographed helmets and players’ gloves and other memorabilia. Each Christmas, Santa invariably brings Thomas Trinkle at least four jerseys. He owns dozens of Colts shirts, to give the washer and dryer something of a break.

When need be, he wears Colts underneath. That’s a Colts tie in his senior picture. “I like challenges,” he said.

Fun fact: Trinkle beats the previous unofficial record of David Witthoft of Ridgefield, Conn., who wore a Brett Favre Packers jersey for 1,581 straight days between the ages of 3 and 12 (2003 through 2008).

You would think being named Thomas Trinkle is bad enough.

I’ve worn a Patriots shirt for just under 15 years ( starting 13 days before Super Bowl XXXI ). This kid has got nothing on me.
