Getty Images Former NBA big man and Tracy McGrady dunk victim, Shawn Bradley is a man who has to have a lot of things custom-fitted for his 7’6 frame.
A couple years back, Bradley was given a custom-made bicycle made by Trek that allowed the big man to enjoy the world on two wheels. Last week however, a robber had taken the bike from Bradley’s property in Murray, Utah and as you can understand Bradley was confused over its disappearance:
“It’s a stolen bike, not the end of the world,” Bradley said before knowing it had been recovered. “It’s just kind of a weird story. It’s not like I can go down to the bike shop and buy a new bike. It’d be the same if my clothes were stolen.”
However, this story has a happy ending as state parole officials doing a random search of a residency in the area retrieved the bike. The owner of the house was charged with suspicion of possession of stolen property and felony theft. For Bradley, he was pleased to get the bike back:
Now he doesn’t have to worry about finding a replacement bicycle, valued at between $6,000 and $10,000.
“I’m not a racer, but I love to ride,” he said on a sun-splashed fall day. “A day like today would have been perfect.”
