Color war at Penn State for Saturday’s game: White for JoePa, or blue for victims?

Getty Images I thought that there was no possible way that Penn State could look worse in the wake of the child abuse scandal, but I was wrong. Now there’s a big controversy over what color fans should wear at the Nebraska game at Beaver Stadium on Saturday. Sheesh.
TMZ reported on Thursday that Penn State football coaches met with players and asked then to tell theikr friends and families to wear white to the game, in honor of ousted head coach Joe Paterno.
In addition to wearing white, we’re told the coaches informed the team they may change the time and location of the pre-game meal because of security concerns.
And, we’re told, the coaches assured the players there would be “enhanced security” for the game.
But the coaches did this apparently knowing full well of a university-wide movement to have fans wear blue on Saturday, in honor of the alleged victims of assistant coach Jerry Sandusky. As part of their “Stop Child Abuse: Blue Out Nebraska” campaign, organizers are asking fans to wear blue — preferably this t-shirt, available at McLanahan’s on College Avenue in State College. Or you can purchase one online. All proceeds from sales of the shirt will go to Prevent Child Abuse Pennsylvania.
“In addition to being the color of our team’s home game jerseys, blue represents the color of bruises that have too often been neglected,” the school said in a Facebook post.
So will the two factions sit in separate areas of the stadium? Will there be protests outside? And what if some poor Nebraska fan shows up wearing red? (Is pummeled with protest signs).
One TMZ commenter:
How about instead that Paterno’s fans wear yellow to show what cowardly jerks they are? — writenow

If Penn State fans wear blue and some wear yellow, won’t they be confused by viewers as being LSU fans? All humor aside.
This is the worse scandal and crime possibly in the history of U.S. higher education. Having a child predator sodomizing a child (or children) on the campus in the football building shower and then those entrusted to report such a horrific crime to law enforcement, not doing so, and ignoring the victim(s) or brushing it all under the rug. For what reason? To keep the squeeky clean perception of the Penn State football program intact? Where was the care for the victim(s) who were children at the time. What responsible adults reported the crimes, or provided therapy and assistance for the young boys?
Research conducted on young boys who are sexually molested reveals these young victims can be 15 times more susceptible to suicide than others. Thanks to then Attorney General Tom Corbett for begining the investigtion via the grand jury. Thanks to any and all who are trying to clean house, get integrity restored and those guilty of the crimes to answer as well as all those who could have done something to help the children and did not. Please remember the victims in this horrible situation above any and all other considerations.
