AP Say what you want about Floyd Mayweather Jr., but you can’t deny that he is both a student and admirer of boxing history. Today he reached out to both commemorate the life and legacy of Joe Frazier — who passed away at the age of 67 — and to offer an a financial assist.
On Twitter late Tuesday after hearing of Frazier’s death, Mayweather tweeted, “My condolences go out to the family of the late great Joe Frazier. #TheMoneyTeam will pay for his Funeral services.”
Mayweather has committed to such a gesture before, earlier this year paying for the funeral of a one-time opponent, Southland former world champion Genaro Hernandez.
Ironically, Frazier’s passing could increase pressure on Mayweather to finally agree to fight Manny Pacquiao. On Monday, a day before Frazier’s passing, the LA Times called for Mayweather to agree to the fight “in Frazier’s honor.”

What this article fails to realize is that what really killed Joe Frazier was watching Floyd collect 30million$ for cheapshotting a guy, robbing boxing fans everywhere of a worthwhile 60$ pay per view, and still retain a better reputation than the way Ali painted Frazier into the badguy.
Floyd is a p****, he doesn’t do anything that isnt calculated. The respect that Joe Frazier earned is all real and its something Floyd Mayweather will NEVER BE ABLE TO BUY.

Floyd is a glory hog and as chargerdillon posted –a cheap shotter.
The Frazier family may opt for a private service and if so that is fine.
If public and where we can make it, we will. Fraiser was a class act.
When these class athletes pass, we don’t have any to take their place.
God bless his family and friends. RIP Joe.

Floyd,
“To be the man, you have to beat the man.”
Until you stop running your mouth and fight Manny, you remain what you are….a punk. A true fighter would shut up, and fight the best, regardless of the purse. Unless of course you blow through your money like grandma does at the slot machine…

Joe was total class and Floyd is far from that.
