Howard Stern got the big scoop this morning: Former Phillie and frequently incarcerated financial expert Lenny Dykstra will take on Jose Canseco in the ring on Saturday as part of FilmOn.com CEO Alki David’s Celebrity Fight Night boxing show. Yes, ancient Mayans, your 2012 end-of-the-world scenario seems to be right on schedule. Don’t gloat.

According to the fight’s official site, the event will also include “host Kevin Federline and fighters Michael Lohan, Kato Kaelin, Coolio, Joey Buttafuoco, Amy Fisher, Octomom, Jose Canseco & more.” No word on whether Lohan’s arrest last week will impact his ability to get in the ring.

“Canseco ruined my career by spreading lies,” said Dykstra in a statement.” I called Tareq and begged him to let me take his place in the upcoming fight against Canseco.”

Dykstra is taking the place of White House party crasher Tareq Salahi, who was originally supposed to take on Canseco. Not sure why he agreed to back out: perhaps as Karen Allen said in Animal House, he was “too well to attend.”

Oh, and it’s all on Pay-Per-View, and will be streamed live on FilmOn.com. Here’s the press release.

This sounds like more of circus of the misfits, rather than a celebrity boxing match. What will it benefit, possibly another Salahi alledged sham charity? At least these train wrecks will crash into one another in this event.
