MLB.com ashamed to admit fan hid David Freese HR ball in his pants

By now you probably know the story: Dave Huyette, the guy who corralled the home run ball hit by David Freese in the 11th inning Thursday night, secured his prize by immediately stuffing it down his pants. “I don’t think anyone knew I had it,” said Huyette, a Cardinals fan who gifted the ball to Freese following the game.
But in the MLB.com account of Huyette’s big moment, that little detail about his pants was, curiously, censored. Behold:
“One person patted me on the back and said, ‘Don’t sell it to anybody,’” said Huyette, who was attending his first World Series game with his friend, Cubs fan Jeremy Reiland.
“I think I tumbled into the grass, I saw the ball go right in front of me and nobody was even around it. So, I took my chances and plopped it into my [pocket].”
And by “pocket,” he means “pants.”
Huyette’s actual quote, via Big League Stew:
“I jumped over the fence and [the ball] kind of landed right there. I just tumbled around it, expecting to getting pummeled and beaten to death.”
Did he?
“No, because what I did was shove it down my pants right away. I don’t think anyone realized I had it.”
Another great moment in unnecessary censorship.
Huyette, by the way, got a bat autographed by Freese and a ball signed by all the Cards’ players. Plus he got two tickets to Game 7.
Best part of the story: Huyette’s friend, who was with him for practically all of the post-game photos, was wearing a Cubs t-shirt.
