Tuesday Blogdome: Haka showdown at the Rugby World Cup (video)

Getty Images [From Sports Grid] New Zealand’s national Rugby team, nicknamed the All Blacks, have this ritual they like to do before matches called the “Haka.” The Haka is a traditional Maori war dance from New Zealand, in which tribes would bend at the knees, beat on their chests, and shout things like “I die! I die! I live! I live!” really, really loudly. When the entire New Zealand Rugby team performs a haka before a match, it can be an intimidating sight to behold.
France, in an effort to show that they weren’t scared before their World Cup final, crossed the midfield line, hands interlocked, and advanced upon their shouty opponents (one French player did say they were so close they could’ve smooched the New Zealanders).
