Getty Images As you probably know, San Diego wide receiver Randy McMichael refused to give the Jets much credit for their 27-21 comeback win over the Chargers on Sunday. Which prompted Jets coach Rex Ryan to respond in the most hilarious way possible. First, the McMichael quote:
“I’m not giving credit to anybody,” a visibly upset McMichael said. “Their secondary isn’t anything. It’s our fault. It had nothing to do with anyone on their team. The guys in the locker room, we lost this game.
“You can spin any question you want to ask; everything boils down to the San Diego Chargers beat the San Diego Chargers today. Nothing to do with the New York Jets. It’s embarrassing, but it is what it is.”
Then Jenny Vrentas, a reporter for the Newark Star-Ledger, tweeted this last night:
Rex’s response to Randy McMichael’s comments: “Stay classy, San Diego.”
Generally speaking, Anchorman quotes jumped the shark about six years ago. But when an NFL coach reels one off, and it’s a beautifully executed as this, you just have to admire it.
By the way, it could have been worse. Ryan could have gone with the Anchorman quote: “You are a smelly pirate hooker.”

Ironic that Rex Ryan would use the term “stay classy” when referring to anybody else.

As if that’s funnier than Rex Ryan peeing on a picture of Randy McMichael while whistling “Heat Of The Moment” while Santonio Holmes plays a harmonica and Plaxico does percussion by shooting off his pistol.
