Your eyes are not deceiving you, hockey fans. That’s (left to right) Shawn Thornton, Johnny Boychuk, Tyler Seguin, Milan Lucic and Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins. They took on staff members of the Harvard Lampoon in a game of dodgeball on Sunday, beating the ink-stained wretches before being awarded the Best Sports Team Ever Trophy by the town of Cambridge.

For those who don’t know, the Harvard Lampoon is a humor magazine which was the precursor to the National Lampoon — The Onion before there was an Onion. And the Boston Bruins are a hockey team.

The Dodgeball game was part of Boston Bruins Day in Cambridge, which sounds like it was a lot of fun.

Brad Marchand and Johnny Boychuk read from each other’s diaries to the audience. “What do I have to show for myself but years of hard work and a really big cup I can’t even drink out of?” Boychuk said. Marchand also read entries regarding Boychuk’s size issues: “Today I played hockey,” Marchand said, “the other men are very manly men, very big, unlike myself.”
