Football players walk out of school play due to boy-on-boy kiss

Imagine a school in which athletes are the outcasts, heterosexuals have to hide their feelings and the top students are the popular kids. That’s the subject of the musical Zanna Don’t!, which was performed at Hartford (Conn.) Public High School. Reviews were mixed, as they say.
One scene in the musical, in which two men share a kiss, was apparently too much for many in the audience to take. This included several members of the school’s football team, who walked out in unison. CBS Connecticut:
During the show, two men in the cast share a brief kiss — a lip lock that became a great point of contention.
“There was a public walkout by a bunch of students (when the kiss happened) … mostly male,” said Adam Johnson, principal of the school’s Justice and Law Academy. “It was visually evident (due to the jerseys the team was wearing) that a lot of football players got up and walked out. It was almost a symbolic kind of thing.”
Reportedly, the school began receiving a great number of phone calls. The dean of students was even allegedly paid a visit by a Bible-wielding parent that spoke about homosexuals in an unflattering manner.
It’s unclear in the CBS story whether it was Hartford students or outside actors who were involved in the play, but it was organized by two Hartford community organizations. The school was notified about the play’s content — and the kiss — beforehand, and had no problem with it.
How many of the football players who walked out of the musical have approached the pre-game coin flip by walking onto the field holding hands? Just saying …

The students voiced their opinion by walking out individually or in unison. They did not shout obsenities, throw pies or worse, as liberals did to Michelle Malkin, Ann Colter, and others at bastions of liberalism in America.

lol bastions of liberalism, nice..so i have to ask you, what does Faux news fall under? Furthermore, when did an entire audience of “liberals” boo/heckle a soldier for being gay, or applaud a man who is proud of executing more than 240 people when its been shown not only that his state leads the way in wrongful death sentence convictions, but that his top dog who he appointed was proven to have hidden evidence in said cases? Yeah, thanks for playing crack pot, but take a look in the mirror first before you speak.

Amazing that something like that happened (the walkout) in one of the gayest areas of the United States.

Freedom of expression unfortunately sometimes leads to freedom of ignorance.

Meh, their prerogative if they didn’t want to be there.

What these football players did isn’t easy to do. These gentlemen aren’t ignorant of anything, they have standards that they aren’t afraid to stand up for. If seeing a guy kiss another guy offends them, then it’s there prerogative to get up and leave and but I think they should not be heckled for it.

I’m shocked that Chandler didn’t use this as another example of the intolerance of people in those damn red-states like he did in the post about the gay cheerleader in Texas. Oh wait, Connecticut’s blue. Move along, nothing to see.

Funny how those who claim to be Christians seem to enjoy bashing homosexuals. I am a Christian, and im not gay FYI, but in that same bible that parent was thumping I recall reading a part about “thou shall not judge thy fellow man”. If you are a TRUE Christian, you pray for them and KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT, you dont go spewing angry and hateful words. This ongoing issue where Christians feel they need to show hatred towards homosexuals is the exact opposite of what Christianity stands for, and give it a bad name. Dont like what i have to say? Well then Im sorry, but its the TRUTH!
