Here we have Rashed Al Hooti of Bahrain (center), who’s a bit depressed over his exit from a FIFA 2014 World Cup qualifier with Iran in Tehran. Hoots was sent off with a red card only 39 seconds into the match after a particularly egregious slide tackle, which is believed to be the quickest red card ever recorded in international play. Bahrain then charged ahead to lose, 6-0.

There’s clearly some acting here on the part of the Iranian player, but it seems to be a fair call nonetheless.

Fair call? It was just aggresive. A tackle from the front and he caught a piece of the ball. No wonder it’s hard for American’s to embrace the game.
