The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council weighs in on the Tiger Woods incident

The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (yep) has issued a statement (again, real) on the incident in which a hot dog was thrown at Tiger Woods at the Frys.com Open. Of course if the NRA were drafting this, we’d get an ultra-defensive “You can have my wiener when you pry it from my cold, dead hands” screed. After all, people assault people, steamed frankfurters don’t assault people. But the NHDASC has taken a different approach. Their statement:
“The use of an iconic food in an act of violence against an iconic golfer like Tiger Woods is reprehensible — and a violation of hot dog etiquette. Some might call the thrower a ‘wiener,’ but we’d say that’s too high a compliment,” said Council President Janet Riley. “Hot dogs are meant to be enjoyed – not weaponized.”
Waggle Room calls the incident The Weinering, which could be the next Stephen King novel.
