When you think about it, it’s probably a huge honor for this guy to have been kicked by Argentine soccer legend Maradona. He may have that hand bronzed. Maradona is now coaching Al Wasl in the United Arab Emirates, but he hasn’t mellowed much. Watch below as he’s trying to get his picture taken in front of a banner at his home stadium in Dubai, when a fan insists on horning in from the stands. The fan kept moving the banner, so Maradona just kicked his hand, which had to hurt, I’d imagine.
Also please note the policeman running over to help who tries to leap a small barrier and comically crashes to the ground.
Maradona says “as a surprise from my daughters in Argentina and Manchester, they put a sign up for me in the ground that read: ‘Grandfather, I’m with you. I love you. Benja.’ I’d like to apologize to one of the fans. I was trying to unfurl and see the whole banner and, by mistake, I perhaps injured him.”
Um, it didn’t look like a mistake. But at least The Rotund One didn’t run over his foot.
