Russian rugby fans still fighting the Cold War (with a bedsheet)

“Ha! Take that, America. We hit you right in the Sputnik with that one.” Unfortunately, despite having launched both the first man and first dog in space, this somehow didn’t help Russia in rugby. The former Soviet Union lost to the U.S. in 2011 Rugby World Cup Pool C match play on Wednesday, 13-6. Boris and Natasha are not amused.

It was the first win for the U.S., which lost to Ireland last week. Next up for the Americans? Australia. That will not end well for us. But if the U.S. can then beat struggling Italy, we’ll likely finish third in pool play, thus automatically qualifying for the 2015 World Cup.
